Photographs placed here just for comparison. Bay willow has been mistakenly included into the Massachusetts flora (and presumably floras of other states). Instead, its hybrid (see S. x meyeriana), which looks similar to the parent, has been cultivated in Massachusetts. This special European willow is akin to the American autumn willow Salix serissima. It finishes flowering late in the season, its seeds ripening in the fall.
