June 11,   Cutler Park, Needham
Marsh cinquefoil is a common native wetland plant both in Eurasia and North America. It grows in open inundated meadows, such as this marsh in the floodplain of the Charles River, which has been completely taken by narrow-leaf cattail and purple loosestrife. However, maintenance along the boardwalk resulted in some openings, and decent plants immediately showed up!
