This carpetweed was growing on a sandy pond beach rather affected by recreation. It is a plant of sandy pond shores, roadsides, and similar habitats with poor soil. Its life cycle is rather short: it goes into bloom a few days after germination, produces seed and dies off in some 30-40 days.
