Like many other weeds, wild carrot cannot penetrate undisturbed natural communities and thus does not present a threat to native plants. It only takes over such unsightly places as this pile of rocks and gravel left behind by road constructors. We should be grateful that there exist such elegant plants as chicory or carrots, that take good care of our gas stations, dumpsters, and abandoned lots.
